OVATION GROUP BREAK QUESTION and UPDATE!!!!!

To everyone involved in the group break... I'm a bit more than half way through opening all the boxes... it's very nice so far! Anyways, taking a short break to ask a question of everyone based on my observations of the boxes thus far...

There are 84 cards in the regular base set... it's my observation that we're getting a full set out of each box (or at least REALLY close to the full set) so that by the end of the break there would be enough for a full 84 card set per participant with left over duplicates for everyone. I don't mean to change course mid-stream, but would EVERYONE (this must be unanimous) be interested in a complete set, plus all the duplicates, inserts, hits and parallels from your teams?

Please e-mail me with your answer to this question, as I don't want anyone who isn't interested to feel singled out. Please let me know ASAP: samuelpair@yahoo.com.  If you feel comfortable leaving a comment with your opinion, by all means, but the e-mail option is available.

I don't have a problem with anyone who wants to keep just their players but you'll probably end up with at least 16 cards of every person in the base set for your players. PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!!

Trade Post... Ted from Crinkly Wrappers...

Ted over at Crinkly Wrappers recently posted some trade bait and I snagged a card for the wife's collection and for my Bronze Border Gypsy Queen collection (thus netting Ted one entry in the contest!) See pics below!

For the group break, the case was shipped today and will be delivered on Thursday! So hopefully I can get a video or two posted Thursday night and the rest on Friday during the day! The excitement mounts! Trades are still on-going! You have until Thursday-ish!

Alright everyone, I ordered the case last night and it will ship on Tuesday, so hopefully this weekend I can start busting boxes and posting youtube videos! I'll probably do a box per video per post, and include scans of the hits if I can get that organized! Trades, Purchases and a GREAT CARD or 7...

Wow, I got home from Alabama today and found 7 packages waiting in the mail box... There's Derek from Tomahawk Chopping, Todd from MidWest Cardboard, a couple of purchase packages including a huge haul of Masterpieces from I Am Joe Collector and a bulk package of Astros from Scott over at Smed's. This is a huge haul of cards over all, including a LOT of trade bait, contest winnings that will also be trade bait, a personal white whale of a card for me, another 1/1 that I can't believe I got for a bit more than $10, and some great Hollywood stuff for the wife that Todd sent along unexpectedly. For those who traded with me, I REALLY do appreciate it, Todd you outdid yourself and I totally owe you something for those Hollywood cards! The wife was really excited... here's the video, there'll be scans after the post of the "For Trade" items!

GROUP BREAK CLOSED! Greetings from Mobile, AL!

So, the wife and I made the trip out to Mobile, AL today... a nice 8 hour drive! Tomorrow we start looking for apartments. Looks like this summer, at some point, the wife and I will be moving on out here for a couple of years.

Upon getting here, I've found that the last team in the group break has been claimed! Thanks to David for claiming the Indians.

Quick somewhat free (to me) card/trade post... and group break pimpage (again)... haha!

Hey everyone... a quick post to show off some cards that Matt from Cardboard Conundrum. We're old college buddies that still live in the Houston area. A while back, I went over to his place and let him rummage through my extras and I snagged a few cards; but the quantity and quality of cards was decidedly in his favor and we just agreed that he could make it up to me over time, yada yada yada. If I remember correctly this is the second such bundle he's sent my way... he garnered himself two entries into my Bronze Border contest with a sweet Thurmon Munson and a Jimmy Rollins... he also sent along a SWEET Nolan Ryan green border retail insert as well as an SP and some UD 20th Anniversary inserts! So... onto the goods...

Matt... thanks a bunch! This brings my Bronze border total to 51 in-hand! Over half way there people!

Alright, on an unrelated but very important note, I'm ONE person short of filling the group break!
