Moving right along...

Well, there have been some plans taking shape in the Dimwit/Hotwit household. Looks like we're going to be selling the house this summer and pulling up our Houston roots. The options have been narrowed down to Southern Utah and the panhandle of Florida (or wherever we can secure gainful employment). So we embark on a great adventure a month or two after we get married and see what life has in store... or at least that's the plan! Haha!

This is NOT a good sign...

http://www.cnn.com/2010/OPINION/01/12/frum.washington.financial.capital/index.html

So we're consolidating businesses into the grand city of government eh? Sound familiar? Remind anyone of Moscow? Berlin? When all of our business are owned, at least in part, by the federal government, that same government is going to have the potential to rule with an iron fist. This was never a good idea, even the Dimwit knows that...

2009 - The Dimwit Reflects

Well here we are at the beginning of a new decade... and the Dimwit looks back at the year known as 2009.

He renewed a friendship with the Hotwit after 20 years. Subsequently fell head over heals for her. Went on a vacation to NYC with her and came back with a fiance and wedding plans. The past 11 months with her have been the 11 most exciting and amazing months of his life. The Dimwit has a new understanding of what the term "soulmate" means.

The job continues to go forward without relent. The Hotwit and Dimwit have started looking at a long-term plan of moving to Kanab, Utah (or some place like it) to work for Best Friends Animal Shelter. The big hurdle is getting financially ready for such a move. We'll see if it pans out.

The wedding plans are going great, we meet with the florist soon and that will be the last real "big" thing to secure. The rest is stuff we just need to buy. We've got to get the wedding party together to get tuxedos and dress fitted and ordered. Other than that, we're in pretty good shape. We were able to get the photographer we wanted as well.

2009 was the first year in many that no major tragedies struck the Dimwit's life, and for this he is grateful. The ebb and flow continues, things come and go, change happens whether we like it or not. The Dimwit choses to not dwell on the past, as it can't be changed, it is what it is and giving it too much weight is wasted time and emotion. Move forward and do what you can today to make tomorrow better.

There are no resolutions this year, but the Dimwit does hope to be a better blogger, and most especially he hopes to be the best possible husband to the Hotwit. June 26th can't get here soon enough!
