Alright, we're going with another theme for Five Card Friday! (Sorry that it'd getting posted a bit late!) But I'm doing a dual theme on this one, the first is obvious... MINI's! But the second theme is kinda hidden (and a bit of a stretch!)... there's no prize, but I'd love to see what your guesses are for the other theme... Once again, first person to claim these cards by offering just 1 card from my want list gets them! Thanks!
Have a great weekend!!!!!

First heard of this act while watching "So You Think You Can Dance" and they played their cover of the classic 80's hit "Addicted to Love"... bought the album and they are now on regular rotation on my iPod... Here's Florence + The Machine...

Recent eBay Purchase from "I Am Joe Collector"
Joe over at I Am Joe Collector recently did a case break of 2007 UD Masterpieces, and while I couldn't convince him to trade me any of the loot, he put up a bunch of the cards up on eBay and I was able to snag the 16 box toppers that came from his case. I wanted to collect these, and now I only need 4. But of course those four are Ruth, Gehrig, Koufax and Victor Martinez. Three of those may prove hard to pry out of a collector's hands, and I'm hoping to trade for them rather than buy them as well. So, here's my 16 box toppers in all their glory, I REALLY like this set and it pains me that it's no longer in production...

Trade Post!
Hey, I wanted to do a quick post and shout out to a few guys who have sent me a bunch of cards off my 2008 Allen and Ginter and 2008 UD Masterpieces need lists!
First off is Matt over at Cardboard Conundrum! I had gone over to his apartment a while back and helped him out with a bunch of set needs and his stack of cards ended up being bigger than the ones I was taking home, so he sent me over 48 cards from 2008 Allen and Ginter to start and even things out!
Next is Drew from over at DrewsCards! I forget at this point what exactly I sent him, but he mailed over 20 cards from the set! Again, must appreciated!
Finally there is Duane from Democratic Roadkill. A great and unique blog name! We worked out a trade from my Trade Bait post and he sent over 53 cards from 2008 Allen and Ginter, as well as 3 from 2009 Allen and Ginter and then 14 cards from 2008 UD Masterpieces!
Love the cards and thanks for the trades and congrats once again to the winners of my contest announced this morning!

The apocalypse is upon us... and a contest is nearly over...
I did the one thing I thought I'd never do, what I didn't want to do, but over time finally decided that enough was enough and decided to join the world of twitter. So if you have any interest in getting my one or two weekly tweets then here you go, follow me @thedimwit. Set your expectations ridiculously low on this one everybody, I'm not the next Charlie Sheen.
Alright, the big contest for $35 dollars ends tonight, get your entries in! I went and got some stuff for the prize winners 2-5 yesterday. Thanks for everyone who has already participated!
Finally, about a week ago I switched the domain name from the "blogspot" format to just www.thedailydimwit.com. I've been meaning to say this in case it's messed anyone up trying to reach the blog, but it should re-direct you automatically. Have a great day everyone!

This contest is EASY!!!! And hopefully fun... Thanks to CSNStores!
It has been too long since I have done a contest here on the blog! So, hopefully this is one that you all can get involved in and earn yourself extra entries!
First of all, I'm sure you all would like to know what the prize is... well, how about a $35 gift code to one of my sponsors, CSNStores? I've done a few product reviews for CSNStores, and I thought it high times that one of my readers benefit as well! You never know, you may just find a few LCD TV Stands that you really like or some baseball cards, like I did with the 2008 Allen and Ginter retail boxes!
There will be 4 ways to gain an entry to the contest:
1) Follow this blog, easy enough...
2) Comment on THIS POST... easy still...
3) Plug this contest on your blog and include the site address in your comment so that I can verify! Super easy...
4) This is the hard part: In a recent Dimwit video, my cell phone went off and I mentioned the name of the band for anyone who cared. Well, what is the name of the band on my ring tone? Again, if you watch my videos, this is super EASY.
Alright, so there are the criteria. Now, when is the cut off date? You have plenty of time, you have until Sunday night at 11:59:59 pm to get your entries in. I'll post a video Monday evening to announce the big winner!
Now, some of you may be thinking: "But Dimwit, that's a lot of work for there to be only one winner!" Well, yes, there will be only winner of the CSNStores $35 gift code. However, in typical Dimwit fashion I am planning additional prizes for those who finish in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place in the randomizer! What will it be? You may not know until it shows up in your mailbox!

Recent eBay WINNINGS!
Much to the shag-grin of the Hotwit, I have several posts like this coming soon... I went on a bit of a binge at the bay of e... so I am cutting myself off from the addiction before the intervention is scheduled... but until then, you get to partake of my loot! A bunch of CHEAP on card Astros autos...
Terry Puhl, greatest Canadian Astro; Larry Dierker - great pitcher and manager, a big fan fav and a vintage card!; Bob Watson - former player, GM and MLB Executive; Joe Sambito - well, he's Joe Sambito; Danny Darwin - Dr. Death himself; Bob Lillis - unremarkable Astros manager; Denny Walling - great utility guy; Rob Andrews - don't know much about him; and Bill Virdon - legend and Astros manager, my second auto of his from eBay. Finally, there is the auto I've wanted for a while and wasn't too far from TTM'ing when I found the auction and won it for $0.01 + $2.00 shipping!
That's right, Mr. No-Hitter-To-Clinch-The-Division 1986 himself (I was at that game and reportedly was asleep through most of the ending, at least that's what my parent have told me). I have the game recorded as well, what a game and what a pitcher. The Mets were afraid to face him in the NLCS and cowardly won the series in game 6 to avoid facing him again because they knew they'd lose. If only it went to game 7, then it would have been Kevin Bass hitting a dribbler through Buckner's legs to score Denny Walling. Ok, I've managed to raise the ire of both Mets and Red Sox fans in this post, I think I'll be leaving now...
But before I go, check out a couple of contests. The first is over at Tomahawk Chopping and the other is over at Ben's site Baseball Cards Rule! Check out those two great blogs and enter for yourself... or don't and give me better odds at winning it myself!
